The context as a determining and determined variable in the assignment of meaning. Ways of referring the future in Spanish

Abstract

Starting from an inferential conception of communication, in this paper we try to show that the relationship established between the context and the statements is not unidirectional, that is, although it is true that the predicates are interpreted thanks to the context participation, it is no less true that the context in turn is determined by the statements to which it itself implements. As an example, we establish the differences in meaning between three ways of referring to the future in Spanish.
