Cinema, Re-education and Censorship Around “Ceauşescu’s July Theses”. A Didactic Perspective on Cinematic Transpositions: Canon and Vanishing Points

This article is situated at the moment when Ceauşescu’s cult of person- ality began to consolidate in order to attend to the cinematographic canon that was established during the “July theses”. For this purpose, literary transpositions are analyzed in accordance with the political- cultural guidance of the RCP’s organic ideal within the realm of cinema, its pedagogical and propagandistic role, and the possible discrepancies and vanishing points. In this way, cinematic models of relevance and resistance are presented from a critical perspective of the past, in line with their renegotiation with society after the resettlement period.
