On paremiological translation. Contrastive analysis Spanish-Bulgarian

Abstract

Proverbial phrases are phraseological units (PUs) that constitute acts of speech in their own right. With the help of examples taken from contemporary Spanish novels translated to Bulgarian, we demonstrate that, just like other phraseological units, proverbial phrases have variations and different connotations that sometimes require from the translator to consider different possibilities in order for the proverbial phrase to fit in the context.
